Wham-O Names Tyler Barnett PR as its Agency of Record

Maker of Frisbee, Hula Hoop, and Slip N’ Slide Partners with Leading Millennial Marketing and PR Firm

LOS ANGELES, November 1st, 2016 — Wham-O, the iconic recreational toy brand behind Hula Hoop, Frisbee, Slip N’ Slide, and Boogie Board, has named Tyler Barnett PR as its new agency of record.

Regarded as one of the fastest growing PR and marketing firms in Beverly Hills, California, Tyler Barnett PR has specialized in marketing to the millennial generation for more than a decade. The agency will be working closely with Wham-O on a fresh campaign designed to inspire a new generation of kids to “get out and play.”

“Almost every parent today has a fond memory of playing with a Wham-O product,” says Tyler Barnett, founder and president for the agency. “You say ‘Hacky Sack’ or ‘Hula Hoop’ to anyone over 30 and you are going to see a big smile spread across their face—these toys are nostalgic! And if you think about it, even the concept of playing outdoors as a kid is nostalgic these days. This is exactly the sentiment we plan to tap into with our campaign. We want parents to bond with their kids by sharing with them the same brand that left them with so many fond memories.”

Wham-O was founded in America in 1948, and for more than six decades has produced many of the most successful (and celebrated) recreational toys. Today, the brand touts more than 70 unique products—all without the need for a plug, battery, or Internet connection.

“At Wham-O we are the strongest advocates for Outdoor Fun. We believe in strong relationship between the time we spend having fun outside and our sound mind, positive thinking, and body full of energy,” says Olga Pronin, Marketing Manager for Wham-O. “We are very excited to start this journey with Tyler Barnett PR Agency, which fully shares Wham-O’s vision and philosophy. We have so many great things coming up this year and in 2017! It’s going to be really cool. I can’t wait!”
